Black women are subjected to discipline at alarming rates. For them, a mistake that may be minor for someone else could be fatal.
Many professional Black women shared that they felt a need to be perfect at all times — as they are not the recipients of grace in the workplace.

Black women are very cognizant of how they are perceived. Many shared that they work very hard to come off as warm and welcoming, the opposite of stereotypes like "angry" or "bossy."
But for many, this attention to detail is not enough. Here, a participant discusses being subjected to discipline for issues around "attitude."
